where it started

Even though Kerri has always found solace near water, plunging into cold waters wasn't a usual part of her routine. However, as she welcomed a new decade in 2020, Kerri, alongside her daughter and neighbours, decided to embrace a bit of craziness and participate in a local Polar Bear dip off their familiar dock. Little did they know that only months later, the world would be struck by a pandemic.

Returning to her role as a floor nurse in a Mental Health unit dedicated to Covid patients, Kerri found herself navigating high levels of anxiety at work while also managing school-aged kids at home due to school closures. In the midst of this mental load, with her usual mental wellness tools like gyms and pools unavailable, Kerri turned to the cold waters she once hesitated to enter.

Surprisingly, she discovered that dipping into the cold ocean water helped her focus and melt away the stresses of her demanding week. Delving into research, Kerri explored various techniques and eventually crafted her own framework, involving purposeful dips focusing on the body, nature, community, and building mental resilience.
